Open call for recordings of protests, demonstrations and politics

Open call for recordings of protests, demonstrations and politics
12th May 2017 Cities and Memory

No sounds define the time we’re living in better than the sounds of protest and political activism.

The latest Cities and Memory global sound project is Protest & Politics, the first ever sound map of demonstrations, protests and political activity, which will launch over the summer.

But we need your help to make it happen – do you have a recording of a protest, a demonstration or some form of political activity around the world?

If so, we’d love to hear from you – please drop us a line.

Over the next month, we’ll be assembling a database of protest sounds, whether that’s Brexit in the UK, Trump in the USA or any protest from the present or past elsewhere in the world.

Following that, we’ll be looking for artists and musicians to recompose and reimagine those sounds in advance of the project launch.

Find out more about the project here, and get involved by hitting one of the links below.
