4.00 am – Grosse Freiheit and the Beatles

grosse-freiheit-4Grosse Freiheit is perhaps the most celebrated – or infamous – of the streets in the Reeperbahn area. It’s a straight run of bars, nightclubs and less salubrious establishments, also well known as one of the places the Beatles first made their name in the sixties. Here we take a late-night wander up and down the street and hear a German band cover the Beatles from outside one of the bars.

The Random Order Collective have taken this sound and given it a distinctive and unusual twist, as if you’re hearing it in the gutter at 4.00 am, scarcely able to understand what’s going on or where you are.
