One sound, two reimaginings
Two artists who took part in our Quiet Street project chose the same sound to reimagine – Mike Bingham‘s field recording from Green Park, Bath, in which you can hear the jingling bells around the collar of a guide dog rhythmically calling, and the sound of a vintage aeroplane flying overhead.
This seems to have been rich material for inspiration, as it’s generated two completely different sonic approaches from artists Chris Robinson and Alex McHattie.
It’s fascinating to hear how two people approach the same sound from different perspectives and come up with completely different results, but also how some of the key characteristics of the sound to focus on are picked up by both artists and treated differently.
