Cities and Memory at Cambridge conference

Cities and Memory at Cambridge University this week.
Cities and Memory at Cambridge University this week.

I’m happy to say that Cities and Memory will be speaking at the conference Sound Studies: Art, Experience, Politics at Cambridge University this week, as part of a panel on urban sound and space with Dr. Ernst Karel and Prof. Cathy Lane.

I’ll be presenting their work and chairing a discussion on urban sound and space – you can see the full conference programme here.

Sound Studies: Art, Experience, Politics is a three-day conference featuring leading researchers and artists in the field. The conference will include presentations by leading academics, as well as a sound art installation by an artist in residence, and an evening Sound Art and Criticism Salon.

The event aims to draw attention to the international growth of sound studies, and to emphasise the innovative and potentially subversive nature of research that steps outside of the norms of academic investigation into visual and textual materials.

It should be a fascinating discussion, so if anyone’s in the Cambridge area, come along!
