Wanted: your favourite field recordings of 2017

Wanted: your favourite field recordings of 2017
4th December 2017 Cities and Memory

As part of our end-of-year review for this year, we’re updating our feature on “your favourite field recordings” – and we’re looking for your recordings to make it happen.

We’re asking: what’s your favourite field recording from 2017?

It can be a recording that has particular personal resonance for you, a recording which you’re especially pleased with from a technical perspective, a recording of something rare or unusual.

The submitted recording needs to have been made some time during 2017.

So send us your favourite field recording from this year and we’ll present a summary of some of the best sounds of the year in a couple of weeks time in our 2017 review.

We need:

  • Either the field recording as a sound file (we can host it), or a link to embed it (e.g. on Soundcloud, Audioboom, Bandcamp etc.)
  • A brief description of what the recording is any why it’s special.
  • (Optional: an image of the recording scene).

If you’d like to take part, just fill in the form below (you can also find it here).

The deadline for submissions is 16 December.
