In Petrarch’s house

Arqua PetrarcaA sound with a literary connection today, as we visit the beautiful Italian town of Arquà Petrarca, hometown of the great poet Petrarca (that’s Petrarch to us English speakers).

The field recording is of the church bells ringing in the centre of Arquà Petrarca, which is regarded as one one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

For the reimagined version, where else could we go but back to Petrarch?

We’ve overlaid a reading (in Spanish) of his famous “Sonetto a Laura“, with some suitably hypnagogic synth pads to help us drift away on the soundwaves as we listen.
