Nonclassical x Barbican – exclusive discount to a special field recording event

We couldn’t let the opportunity pass to let you know about an amazing event taking place this Sunday 20 February at the Barbican in London, organised by our friends at Nonclassical – and if you’re not in London, fear not, as you can also tune in online to a livestream of the whole event, with a special Cities and Memory discount!

The event is called Listening To Place, and is dedicated to the art of field recording, and to making music responding to the sounds of the world around us. It features terrific artists such as Langham Research Centre, Gabriel Prokofiev and Ligeti Quartet, with pieces built from the sounds of field recordings, and music that builds on environmental sound.

If you’re in London, there’s also a free programme of events and talks in the afternoon – and if not, you can save 50% on a ticket to watch the livestream exclusively with Cities and Memory. Just enter the code “Memories50” at the checkout – limited to 50 places, so get on it if you’re interested in tuning in!
