We’re kicking off the new year with a bang – we’re extremely proud to launch our latest global project, an open call for everyone called Ways of Listening 🎧💕

This is a particularly exciting one for us for two reasons – first of all, we’re partnering with the Evelyn Glennie Foundation for this project, which will run for the next six months.

And secondly, this is the first ever Cities and Memory project to move beyond only sound and music, and also welcome creative responses from filmmakers, video artists, poets, writers and visual artists of all kinds.

We’re looking for your creative responses to one simple question – “What does listening mean to you?”

The project is global, open to everyone and multidisciplinary – all creative interpretations, from music and field recording to video, photography, graphic art, poetry and prose are welcome.

The creative response is completely open to your interpretation of the question. Any artistic or creative style is valid – we just want to hear, see and understand where the question takes you as an individual (group responses are also OK!).

A conversation on listening
