We’ve won an award!

We’re delighted to say that Cities and Memory was presented with a “Coup de Coeur” award by the Académie Charles Cros, in the category of “Parole enregistrée, Documents & Créations sonores”, in Paris in February.

The academy was founded in 1947 by critics and recording specialists, and was named in honor of Charles Cros (1842–1888), inventor and poet (friend of Arthur Rimbaud and Paul Verlaine) who was one of the pioneers of sound recording. These long-standing awards have existed since 1948 in various categories, and we’re honoured to have been included.

This also marks the first time that the academy has ever given an award to an online project, so we’ve also broken new ground!
