Open call for field recordings – Sacred Spaces

cm-sacred-spaces_4We’re pleased to announced our latest sound project – Sacred Spaces – which collects and reimagines the sounds of spiritual and religious locations to examine the essential role sound has played in our spiritual lives for thousands of years.

We are currently accepting submissions of field recordings to the project – please email us, or you can upload sounds directly here.

We require:
– A sound file as WAV or AIFF, ideally between 2 and 20 minutes long.
– A detailed location of where the sound was recorded (coordinates, or at least an accurate street address)
– An image of the location is optional, but great if you do have one.

We are partnering with the Churches Conservation Trust to record the sounds of English country churches – so we are particularly keen to receive sounds from non-Christian sacred spaces (though of course sounds from churches and cathedrals etc. are also welcome).

The deadline for field recordings is Monday 5 December, after which we will be releasing a call to reimagine and remix our bank of sacred space sounds.
